Chatter#1 First juice fasting

September 4, 2006

I’ve read about detox and fasting in many magazines. It is said that fasting and detox help cleaning the body system. So I decided to give it a try: A two days juice fasting.

Well, some people are not suitable for juice fasting. They are people with diabetes, low blood sugar, eating disorders, kidney disease, liver disease, malnutrition, addictions, underweight, anemia, impaired immune function, gout, asthma, infection, nutritional deficiency, low blood pressure, ulcerative colitis, cancer, terminal illness, epilepsy, or other chronic conditions should only fast under strict medical supervision. As I don’t suffer from any of them (except slight anemia perhaps), I guess I really can give it a go.

My plan is to have juice combinations using carrot, apple (green and red), banana, tomato, orange, cabbage, ginger, honey and soy milk. I can have zingy carrot (carrot+apple+ginger), banana soymilk smootie, apple heaven (green apple+red apple+ orange) etc.

Let’s see how it will turn out to be. The hardest part of the program is forgoing my daily caffeine intake :(

Caution: Don’t drink too much carrot juice in a day (max 1 glass of pure carrot juice per day)

I’m starving even after the fourth glass and extremely bored with drinking juice. How can this be good? Huhu…and it’s only 5pm right now. One more day to go.

OU…right after the 5pm, my friend came with lots of food: cake and family.
    Too good to resist. Failed.

On the plus side, even though it was only a half day fasting, it is still good for digestion :D
