Drink to reduce high blood pressure

Blood pressure is a common prbolem with many people. Some of the factors are heredity, overweight, unhealthy lifestyle (e.g. drinking, smoking, stress).
Diet can help reducing blood pressure. Fresh fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds, fatty fish and tofu can help boosting the intake of potassium, calcium and magnesium which help regulating blood pressure. Garlic, onion, beans and celery helps reducing blood pressure.
There is a recipe for drink which I got from a book Drink To Your Health by Anne McIntyre:
Hawthorn and lime flower tea.
Lime flowers reduce tensions level in the body and relaxes the arteries.
Hawthorn leaves and flower regulate the diameter of the arteries and soften deposits inside the artery walls. It also helps to reduce stress and anxeiety and can be used as a balancer for both high and low blood pressure.
Ingredient:
- 1 teaspoon hawthorn flowers and leaves.
- 1 teaspoon lime flowers
- 1 cup boiling water
How to:
- Place the herbs in a pot an pour boiling water over.
- Cover and leave to infuse for 10 minutes.
- Drink 1 cupful 3 times a day.
